Gaza 2015
The children in Gaza
During the summer holiday in Gaza, residents find themselves with nowhere to escape, as the strip remains isolated from the outside world. Traumatized children wander amidst the ruins, playing cautiously, haunted by the fear of further conflict. Without additional funding for its general fund, the UN organization UNWRA faces the prospect of keeping schools closed come fall. This dire situation would leave Gaza's 240,000 children without access to education. The people of Gaza grow increasingly restless; it has been a year since the Gaza war erupted, resulting in the complete or partial destruction of 140,000 homes and apartments. Shockingly, not a single one of the more than 12,000 completely destroyed homes has been rebuilt.
