Oslo 2022

The fear is present.

Torbjørn Jønsberg (39) is part of Oslo's drug environment and is concerned that other people in the environment will die from overdoses caused by the highly potent drug protonitazen, a highly potent synthetic opioid - 300 times stronger than heroine. No one knows the source of the highly potent and life-threatening drug that has led to several overdoses. Nor is there anything Oslo's addicts can do to discover the substance. At home in his own communal apartment, a chaotic mix of writing on the walls, food packaging, art objects and old papers, Torbjørn is about to «shooting up» in the cold afternoon light from the window. I myself have had three overdoses. It was during the first years as a heroin addict. The one time I was declared clinically dead, and was in a coma for three days. I get worried that people will die,  I myself am quite confident in the contacts that I trade from.  But we don't know who distributes it, so there are no guarantees sayes Torbjørn Jønsberg.
